Rescue Cases
Wenchuan Earthquake Rescue
During the ‘5.12’ Wenchuan earthquake in 2008, the Blue Sky Rescue Team, as an important rescue force, provided assistance and support to the disaster-stricken areas.
The Wenchuan rescue actually had a very big impact on us. When we were in Wenchuan, we went to the disaster area in Hanwang, Qingping, including Chaping and Beichuan. We went to all these places.
When we arrived, there might actually be people under every ruin, but many times we were helpless, because at that time our country’s professional rescue force only had more than 220 people.
Our China International Rescue Team, they are professional urban rescue forces, all the others went, including when they were in Hanwang, there were 20,000 rescuers at the scene, including volunteers, soldiers, marines, and firefighters , Armed police, the power is very powerful.
However, these professional machinery and professional lifting equipment are very lacking, so we can only help schools, shopping malls, and hospitals where these people are relatively dense. The simplest tools we took were shovels and picks.
Facing the ruins of several tons and dozens of tons, we especially felt helpless and lack of knowledge in this area. We felt that we must build a comprehensive team Sexual rescue team.
Wenchuan Earthquake Rescue
At 11:40 noon on December 20, 2015, there was a landslide next to the gas station in Honglang Village, Guangming, Changzhen, Shenzhen. The landslide had caused many buildings to collapse.
The collapse range was large, and some people were trapped at the scene. Blue Sky Rescue started emergency rescue an hour after the incident. A total of more than 100 members of 14 teams from 4 provinces participated in the rescue on-site, and more than 30 people participated in the background support tasks.
2017 Maoxian Mountain Collapse Rescue
At about 06:00 on June 24, 2017, a high-level mountain collapsed in Xinmo Village, Diexi Town, Maoxian County, Sichuan Province. The river was blocked for 2 kilometers, and more than 1,600 meters of roads were buried. The Blue Sky Rescue Coordination Center dispatched 8 teams with a total of 95 people to participate in the rescue.
Nepal Earthquake Rescue
At 14:11 on April 25, 2015, an earthquake of magnitude 8.1 occurred in Nepal (28.2 degrees north latitude, 84.7 degrees east longitude) with a focal depth of 20 kilometers. The latest data released by the Nepalese Ministry of the Interior shows that the earthquake has killed nearly 8,000 people so far. Among the 29 affected counties, Sindupal Chok in the mountainous area suffered the most serious casualties. The strong earthquake simultaneously affected 19 counties and districts in Tibet, killing 26 People were killed, nearly 900 injured, and 3 missing.
In the spirit of international humanitarianism, as soon as the news of the disaster came out, the China Blue Sky Rescue Team activated the emergency rescue system. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China agreed to the Blue Sky Rescue team and gave international coordination. The rescue team urgently dispatched 83 volunteers from all over the country to go to Nepal to carry out international rescue operations. All travel expenses are borne by the team members themselves.
Sri Lanka Flood Relief
The Sri Lanka Disaster Management Center issued a statement on May 29, 2017, saying that floods and landslides caused by heavy rains in the country have killed 177 people, left 109 missing, and affected hundreds of thousands of families. After the disaster, the Sri Lankan government quickly sought assistance from the international community.
According to the statement issued by the Sri Lankan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in order to help Sri Lanka fight floods and disasters, the Chinese government has provided Sri Lanka with emergency humanitarian aid worth 15 million yuan. Flood relief in Sananxay County, Attapeu Province, Laos
At about 21:00 on the evening of July 23, 2018, an auxiliary dam of a hydropower station dam under construction in Attapeu Province, southeastern Laos, collapsed. Several villages in Nansai County have caused many deaths and hundreds of missing people and huge property losses.
Faced with difficulties such as high temperature, heavy rain, mosquitoes, leeches, and swamps, the Blue Sky Rescue team always adhered to the spirit and belief of ‘not abandoning, not giving up’, crawling in muddy water, and completing the search and rescue of each search and rescue point with difficulty, ensuring this time.
